Turn your home into a real castle with a beautiful chandelier.

The history of the chandelier – from candles to LED art

Long ago, during the Dark Ages, medieval homes were lit by fires in open hearths.

When candles (in French "chandelles") were invented, they were extremely expensive and reserved only for the wealthiest classes. It was not until the 14th century that the first chandelier was created - a crude wooden cross with spikes for candles. Over time, chandeliers became works of art - made of glass, bronze and steel, decorating palaces and castles.

Chandeliers soon became a status symbol, with wealthy landowners competing to commission the most impressive models. They illuminated the halls not only with light, but also with prestige.

The chandelier today – a combination of style and technology

It’s no surprise that chandeliers are still highly prized. Today, a well-designed and properly positioned chandelier can achieve the same effect – but with much greater possibilities.

Contemporary chandeliers come in styles from classic to modern, and new LED technologies make them even more functional. You can use them not only in dining rooms and foyers, but also in bedrooms, walk-in closets, even bathrooms – anywhere you want a stylish accent.

LED lighting saves you from changing bulbs, reduces costs and opens up new design possibilities.

Tips for choosing and placing a chandelier

  • In the dining room, choose a chandelier about 30 cm narrower than the smallest table size. For example, for a 120 x 180 cm table, choose a chandelier about 90 cm.
  • The standard hanging height is about 75 cm above the table for a 2.4 m ceiling. For a higher ceiling, add 2.5 cm for each additional meter.
  • Choose finishes such as brass, polished metal, crystal or wood according to the style of the room.
  • The ceiling rose is a great addition to a classic chandelier - it adds finesse and completion.
  • The dimmer allows you to change the atmosphere with one movement.
