Turn your home into a real castle with a beautiful chandelier.

Превърнете дома си в истински замък с прекрасен полилей.
Long ago, during the Dark Ages, medieval homes were lit by fires in open hearths.

When candles ('chandelles' in French) were invented, they were extremely expensive and reserved only for the wealthiest classes. It was only in the 14th century that the first chandelier was created - a rough wooden cross with spikes on the ends for attaching candles. It wasn't long before the art of chandeliers developed, using intricate patterns of cut glass suspended from ever-larger structures of bronze and steel to illuminate ornate castle entrances, bedrooms and dining rooms. Chandeliers soon became a status symbol, with wealthy landowners competing for the best craftsmen of the day to create works of art that not only illuminated but became the talk of evening events.

Not surprisingly, chandeliers are still highly valued. Today, a well-designed and properly positioned chandelier can achieve the same effect – but you need to follow a few simple guidelines (see below).

Today's chandeliers range from traditional styles to the most modern and eclectic designs. Homeowners use them in spaces other than the dining room or foyer, such as the bedroom, bathroom, and even walk-in closets. Due to the variety of sizes, it is possible to place a chandelier almost anywhere, and new LED designs mean you may never have to change a bulb.

**Chandelier Tips:**

- In the dining room, choose a chandelier that is about 30 cm narrower than the smallest dimension of the dining table. If your table is 120 cm x 180 cm, the recommended width of the light fixture is approximately 90 cm.

- The chandelier should hang about 75 cm above the table top at a ceiling height of 2.4 meters. For each additional meter of ceiling height, add 2.5 cm. With a ceiling height of 3 meters, the chandelier should hang about 80 cm above the table. Most people hang the chandelier too high above the table.

- Choose metal finishes that support the overall style of your room, such as brass, polished silver, crystal or glass, gold or wood. The chandelier is the center of attention and you want it to stand out – but not stand out too much.

- For traditional style chandeliers, the ceiling rosette is a perfect addition. They come in all sizes and styles, adding elegance to any room.

- Dimmer allows you to change the atmosphere of the room with just one push of a button.
